Description
The elected and appointed officials who serve the City of Riceville are a dedicated group who put serving the public above all else. The mayor and council are elected to 4 year terms. Elections are held every 2 years, which allows the council terms to be staggered. We have no wards or precincts, so everyone runs at large.
State code requires that each city appoints a city clerk. In the absence of a city administrator, the city clerk is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the city.
